Hamburger Mashed Potato Casserole Recipes

on Sundays. You hear about the meat and potatoes guys...well, there are a lot of gals that enjoy
meat and potatoes too. Here you will find some hamburger mashed potato casserole recipes that
will help you turn ground beef and mashed potatoes
into yummy meals!
Hamburger Mashed Potato Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 lb ground round
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 small onion, diced small
- 1 large egg
- Prepared mashed potatoes, about 3 cups
- 3/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- Paprika, optional
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. Place bread crumbs in bowl to soak up milk.
- 3. Combine ground beef, salt, pepper, onion, bread
crumb-milk mixture, and egg. # Place mixture evenly in a 9-inch pie tin.
- 4. Bake at 350° for approximately 35 minutes.
- 5. Place mashed potatoes on top of casserole; sprinkle cheese on top of mashed potatoes.
- 6. Return to oven for 10 additional minutes or until cheese is melted and potatoes are thoroughly heated.
- 7. If desired, sprinkle hamburger casserole with paprika.
Ground Beef and Potato Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 - 9oz. bag frozen green beans (cooked according to package directions and drained)
- 1 - 10.75oz. can Campbell's condensed tomato soup
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 cups prepared mashed potatoes
- 1 - 2.8oz. can Durkee or French's French fried onions
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 chopped onion
Directions
- 1. Cook string beans with 1 tsp. salt--drain and set aside.
- 2. In a skillet, brown the ground chuck with 1 tsp. salt, pepper
and chopped onion--drain but keep it in the skillet.
- 3. Turn heat to medium.
- 4. Add the tomato soup and water to the drained beef--stir.
- 5. Add string beans to the beef mixture--stir.
- 6. Grease a 2 qt. casserole dish.
- 7. In a bowl add mashed potatoes and half of the can of French fried onions--stir.
- 8. Spoon the potato mixture in the bottom and up the sides of the casserole to make a well in the center.
- 9. Scoop the beef mixture into the center well of the mashed potatoes.
- 10. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
- 11. Remove from oven, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and the other half can
of French fried onions rings on top--return to oven for 5 minutes longer or until
cheese is melted.
Hamburger Potato Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 can drained green beans
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- approximately 4 cups mashed potatoes
- cheese, bacon bits (optional)
Directions
- 1. Cook and drain grease off hamburger.
- 2. Put cooked ground beef in bottom of casserole dish.
- 3. Take can of drained green beans and mix in bowl
with can of tomato soup.
- 4. Take that mixture and layer on top of hamburger.
- 5. Next take mashed potatoes and layer on top of green bean mixture.
- 6. You can add cheese or bacon bits to top of mashed potatoes.
- 7. Cover and reheat in an oven at 350 degrees F, for approx 30 minutes, or until bubbly.
Hamburger and Mashed Potato Slop
Ingredients
- Cover and reheat in an oven at 350 degrees F, for approx 30 minutes, or until bubbly.
- 1 1/3 cups instant mashed potatoes (or lefover mashed potatoes)
- 1-to-2 cans corn (drained); or frozen
- 1/2-to-1 pkg. Cheddar Shredded Cheese
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
- 2. Brown hamburger and cook corn until warm.
- 3. Prepare mashed potatoes as directed on box.
- 4. Layer into casserole dish, starting with hamburger, add corn, add
mashed potatoes and top with cheese.
- 5. Top with as much cheese as necessary to cover top of potatoes.
- 6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until all cheese melts.
Hamburger Pie with Mashed Potato Crust
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup vegetable broth
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- salt
- pepper
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350F
- 2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.
- 3. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a second skillet. Add the onion and garlic and cook,
stirring occasionally, until onion is soft (about 8-10 minutes).
- 4. Add the carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes more.
- 5. Add the frozen corn (no need to thaw it). Cook for another 5 minutes.
- 6. While the meat and vegetables are cooking, stir together the mashed potatoes
and the egg until they are creamy.
- 7. Grease a 9 inch/22 cm pie plate.
- 8. Spread the potato mixture into the plate, building up the sides to form a crust.
- 9. Set this aside.
- 10. Add the cooked ground beef to the cooked vegetables.
- 11. In a small bowl, mix together the chicken broth and the cornstarch.
- 12. Add this to the beef/vegetable mixture.
- 13. Add the salt and pepper to taste.
- 14. Stir and cook for a few minutes.
- 15. Spoon the beef/vegetable mixture into the mashed potato crust, smoothing it out evenly.
- 16. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned on the edges and the
filling is hot.
