Easy Hamburger Casseroles
Hamburger is inexpensive, full of protein, and easy to cook. It also can
be combined with a multitude of ingredients so that there is something to please
everyone's tastes. I have listed five great easy hamburger casseroles below.
Hamburger Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (10 oz) can tomato juice
- 2 cans mixed vegetables
- 2 boxes Jiffy corn muffin mix
Directions
- 1. Brown ground beef. Drain and rinse to remove excess fat
- 2. Pour into 9 x 13 baking dish.
- 3. Add tomatoes, juice and mixed vegetables.
- 4. Mix muffin mix as directed on package and pour over beef mixture.
- 5. Bake at 375 degrees until muffin topping is golden brown (approximately 20 minutes)
Layered Ground Beef Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- 1. Brown ground beef in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain and rinse.
- 2. Layer half of the ground beef, potatoes, onions and soup in greased baking dish.
- 3. Repeat layers.
- 4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Pinto Bean Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 cups tomatoes
- 2 cups cooked pinto beans
Topping
- 10 tablespoons cornmeal
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 cup milk
Directions
- 1. Mix first eight ingredients.
- 2. Cook until hamburger is done.
- 3. Pour ingredients into a casserole dish.
- 4. Mix topping ingredients well.
- 5. Spread on top of bean mixture.
- 6. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes.
Mexican Beef Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 (10 oz) can enchilada sauce
- 8 corn or flour tortillas
- 8 oz cheddar jack cheese
Directions
- 1. Brown meat and onions. Pour off grease.
- 2. Add enchilada sauce and soups. Mix well
- 3. Place a layer of tortillas in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- 4. Next add a layer of meat and then a layer of cheese.
- 5. Repeat, ending with a layer of tortillas.
- 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Spaghetti Bake
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 (4 oz) jar mushroom
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/4 teaspooons black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 - 12 oz cans whole tomoates
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz spaghetti
Directions
- 1. Melt margarine in skillet then cook onions and peppers until soft but not brown.
- 2. Add beef and garlic powder, cook until beef is no longer red.
- 3. Add tomatoes, salt and chili powder and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
- 4. In the meantime, cook spaghette according to package directions.
- 5. Next add the mushrooms, black pepper and oregano to the sauce mixture.
- 6. Stir the cooked and drained spaghetti into the sauce mixture.
- 7. Grease a large baking dish and put half the spaghetti mixture in, sprinkle on half the shredded cheese.
- 8. Add remaining spaghetti and cheese on top.
- 9. Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
